The government's new economic stimulus plan, signed into law on February 17, 2009, includes increased tax credits, up to as much as $1,500, for consumers who upgrade their heating and air conditioning system in 2009 or 2010.
One of the provisions of American Economic Recovery Act is an energy tax credit for qualified energy efficiency improvements in the taxpayer's principal residence. It's a dollar for dollar tax credit equal to 30% of the investment, up to $1,500.
The tax credit is limited to certain types of high-efficiency equipment, which Environmental Systems Associates can help homeowners select.
It's not a tax deduction, it's real cash in your pocket! If you have a tax liability of $2,500 at the end of the year, you'll only owe $1,000 if you purchase qualifying equipment this year. Of course, the best thing is you'll keep saving on your utility bills year after year thanks to the improved efficiency of your system.
Just ask our representative to explain how you can take advantage of this time-sensitive incentive. After all, it's not every day that Uncle Sam wants to put money in your pocket!
A new comfort system will not only enhance the value and salability of the home, it will reduce utility bills now. And the money you save is tax free!
For more information on the Federal tax credit see:
Federal Tax Credits for Energy Efficiency at EnergyStar.gov.
When your equipment is installed, you will receive a "Certificate of Performance" based on efficiency ratings supplied by the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI).
When you file your 2009 Federal tax return, you will need to include that certificate along with IRS Tax Form 5695 (2009 version).
NOTE: Please consult your tax professional to determine if your personal tax situation allows you to claim this credit before making a purchase decision.
